Our client is looking for a Head of Finance

Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day to day accounting and financial management of the Company and its related subsidiaries. This role also holds accountability for budgeting and reporting on the financial performance to Senior Management.

Main responsibilities:

Statutory financial reporting for audit, in line with relevant regulations
  • Review accounts and prepare all consolidation
  • Prepare and examine accounting records and other financial statements/reports for reporting and compliance purposes
  • Interact and coordinate with auditors for the annual audit exercise
  • Oversee preparation and publication of annual and quarterly accounts
Communicating strategy and policy decisions to Senior Management
  • Provide sound financial advice to the CEO, Directors and other Senior Management, acting as the leading interface between management and Trustees on financial matters
  • Assist the CEO in the implementation of the strategic objectives of the company
  • Work with Fund Managers on fund raising exercise or other deal structuring
  • Follow up on project costing and update of feasibility studies
  • Carry out analysis of financial performance
  • Negotiate facilities with financial institutions and ensure adherence to covenants in place
  • Lead the budgeting exercise ensuring strong processes are in place for resource allocation and performance monitoring at all levels
  • Ensure financial policies and procedures are up to date
  • Ensure appropriate risk management techniques and financial controls are embedded throughout the company at strategic and operational levels
  • Treasury Management
Financial Reporting and Administration
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Completion and submission of Annual Returns
  • Process payroll
  • Liaising with Company Secretary, internal or external auditors and regulatory bodies (MRA, Notaries, etc.)
  • Setting deadlines and KPI’s with the respective Asset Managers for each property
  • Consolidates management and board packs
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Receives all purchase invoices and ensure they are appropriately authorized in accordance with the financial procedures
  • Makes payments of all authorize d invoices
  • Raises all invoices and requests for payment; chases outstanding invoices
  • Resolves all supplier enquiries
  • Verifies and approves supplier payments
  • Receives all receipts and ensures payments are appropriately allocated
  • Creates appropriate book keeping entries and accruals where necessary
People Management
  • Manage, coach and support the team members reporting into the position
  • Assist in identifying training opportunities and in the proposal of a career plan for team members
  • Lead by example and empower team members to demonstrate the values of the company
  • Assist in  the recruitment, appraisal  and employee relations matters related to team members
  • Keeps a good flow of communication between the finance department and other departments with a view to share and collaborate
Qualification:
  • Master's Degree in Finance or recognized professional certification (ACCA qualified or any other relevant qualification)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Financial and Administration management
Candidate profile:
  • Sound knowledge of major accounting software packages
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Packages (especially Excel at an expert Level)
