Our client, in the Engineering sector, is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the sales of all the Company’s workshop engineering products and services.

Responsible for customers/prospects needs analysis, preparing quotations, liaising with suppliers and maintaining good external communication links and after sales follow-up with clients.


Main responsibilities:

Sales strategy and activities
  • Develops a sales strategy, based on company’s objectives, market characteristics and cost factors
  • Identifies new revenue-generation opportunities that promote company’s business
  • Establishes and follows up on weekly, monthly and annual sales plans
  • Plans and organizes sales visits to establish new, and maintain existing relationships with customers
  • Requests quotations from suppliers to calculate and prepare client quotations
  • Interprets customer requirements and helps in the design of custom-made projects
  • Understands clients’ needs on fast-track engineering (repair/workshop-related) jobs and provides expected service to clients
  • Ensures timely preparation of quotations for clients’ jobs and follows-up on requirements, payments and resolution of queries
  • Negotiates and closes sales deals
  • Ensures delivery of jobs within agreed time frame and as per quality requirements
  • Provides after sales follow up to ensure clients’ satisfaction
  • Monitors customers’ accounts
Market analysis
  • Analyzes costs and sales, carries out reporting of job costing, defines and maintains sales targets
  • Initiates market research studies and prepares product presentations
  • Performs sales & marketing activities on prospective clients including client discussions presentations and negotiations
  • Introduces new programs and service concepts to customers
Reporting:
  • Carries out monthly reports on debtor’s status
  • Prepares and submits monthly reports on hit rate 
Quality & Customer Service
  • Abides to company policies and procedures
  • Ensures that customers’ requirements are satisfied
  • Ensures that teams perform duties in accordance with quality norms and regulations as set by Management
  • Proposes new work techniques/procedures which will help to continuously improve quality of service delivered to clients
Safety & Health
  • Reports any unsafe practice to Management or to the Safety and Health Manager
  • Abides to Company’s Safety and Health norms and regulations as set by Management
  • Abides to Client’s Safety and Health norms and regulations whenever on site and as prescribed by Management
Qualification:
  • Certificate level
  • At least 2 -3 years’ of experience in an industrial environment
Candidate profile:
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driving license
  • Sound judgement and good business acumen
  • Proficient presentation and communication skills
  • Technical and process knowledge in related industries
  • Ability to work in team, take initiatives and handle pressure
  • Analytical, problem-solving and selling skills (persuasive and confident)
