Our client, in the Engineering sector, is looking for a Storekeeper

The successful candidate will be responsible of the overall administration of the stores to ensure materials/stock is maintained at optimum level and issued on a timely basis as per quantity and quality requirements.

Main responsibilities:

Stores Administration
  • Plans sourcing requirements with Procurement based on production plan
  • Approves all requisitions basis consumption patterns and forwards to Procurement
  • Monitors indents raised against actual consumption/lift from store to streamline resources and requirements
  • Ensures minimum indents of various items are maintained at all times
  • Ensures timely receipt & issue of materials including consumables
  • Coordinates annual physical stock taking of all items in the store for the purpose of finalization of accounts
  • Prepares daily internal reports
  • Prepares monthly reports on consumption for usage by Finance department
  • Prepares reports & document query responses for auditors
  • Ensures proper administration of stores by maintaining adequate and optimum inventory levels
  • Ensures timely recording of stock items on the system
  • Oversees the work of storekeepers for proper maintenance of the stores
 Work Supervision & Team Management
  • Organises and supervises the work of the Store team
Quality & Customer Service
  • Abides to company policies and procedures
  • Proposes new work techniques/procedures which will help to continuously improve quality of service delivered to internal and external clients
Safety & Health
  • Abides to Company’s Safety and Health norms and regulations as set by Management
 Qualification:
  • Higher School Certificate
  • Certificate/Diploma in Stores and Stock Management
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position will be an advantage
Candidate profile:
  • Knowledge of parts/equipment – plates, specifications, measurements
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driving license
  • Ability to work well under pressure and during odd hours
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good time management and problem-solving skills
  • Good supervisory skills
