Assistant Manager – Tax

Our client, corporate and private client service provider, is looking for an Assistant Manager – Tax

Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will be responsible to providing tax advisory and compliance services to clients.

Main responsibilities:
  • Advise clients and other stakeholders in relation to Mauritian tax matters
  • Provide assistance to clients in relation to FATCA and CRS
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new tax service offerings
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions internally to the staff to develop their awareness and keep them up to date
  • Review tax accounts and computations prepared by operational teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Prepare complex tax accounts and computations in line with relevant laws and regulations
  • Carry out tax analysis and identify tax risks and issues for decision-making
  • Relevant professional qualification in accounting, tax and/or law e.g. CTA/ CA or equivalent
  • At least 5-6 years’ experience with Tax
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of tax regulations in Mauritius, including FATCA and CRS
  • Ability to analyse tax treaties and understand withholding tax regimes
  • Familiarity with international taxation and BEPS
